A luggage tag with a QR code
Reachable for the finder, invisible to everyone else.
A classic luggage label asks for your name, address and phone number, and everyone at the airport can read it. With a TagTalk QR code, a finder can reach you while your details stay off the label.
The short definition
A luggage tag with a TagTalk QR code lets a finder message you without your name, address or phone number on the label.
What a normal luggage label gives away
A normal label often shows your name, home address and phone number. That helps a finder, but also anyone standing next to you in the queue. An address on a suitcase also shows that you are travelling and not at home.
How a QR code on your suitcase works
Whoever finds your suitcase scans the QR code and writes where it is. No app or account is needed. You read the message in your TagTalk dashboard and reply in the same conversation, for example to agree where to collect it. Your phone number and address stay hidden.
Printing your luggage tag
Choose the Lost & Found design and print the PDF at 100% scale. Slide the print into the window of a luggage tag, or print it on durable sticker paper and laminate it. Scan the code with your own phone before you travel.
Suitcase missing at the airport?
Always report a missing suitcase at your airline's baggage desk before you leave the arrivals hall, and keep your bag tag and report number. A QR code does not replace that report, but it helps when someone else finds your bag along the way.
QR code or Bluetooth tracker?
A Bluetooth tracker shows roughly where your suitcase is. A QR code lets the person who has your suitcase contact you. They work well together: the tracker tells you where it is, and the finder can let you know through the QR code that they have it.
Also for bags, backpacks and laptops
The same approach works for a backpack, laptop bag, camera bag or sports bag. Leave your address off, but give people a way to reach you.
Why not put my address on my luggage tag?
An address on a suitcase can be read by anyone and shows that you are away from home. A QR code lets a finder reach you without showing your address.
Does the finder see my phone number?
No. The finder sends a message through the TagTalk message page and does not see your phone number or email address.
Does a QR code replace the airline report?
No. Always report a missing suitcase at your airline's baggage desk. The QR code helps when someone else finds your bag.
Which design should I print?
The Lost & Found design is made for items that can get lost, such as luggage, bags and keys.
