Doorbell not working? Let visitors message you

A message instead of the bell, without your number on the door.

Sometimes the doorbell does not work, or you would rather nobody rings: a baby is asleep, you work nights or you are on a call. A printed TagTalk QR code sign at the door gives visitors and couriers another way to reach you.

The short definition

A QR code sign at your front door lets visitors and couriers message you when the bell does not work or when you would rather nobody rings. Your number stays off the door.

When ringing is not an option

A broken bell, a wireless chime with a flat battery or a bell you cannot hear from the garden. Or a moment when you want quiet: a sleeping baby, a night shift or an important call. A "do not ring" note only solves half the problem, because the visitor still does not know how to reach you.

A message instead of the bell

With the TagTalk Doorbell design at your door, a visitor scans the QR code and writes who they are and what they need. You read the message in your TagTalk dashboard and reply in the same conversation, for example that you are on your way or that the parcel can go next door.

Your number stays off the door

A note with your phone number on the door can be read by everyone who walks past. With TagTalk, the sender only sees a message page. Your phone number and email address stay hidden.

Printing and placing the sign

Print the Doorbell design at 100% scale. For outdoor use, print on waterproof vinyl or put the print in a weatherproof sleeve. Place it at eye level next to the bell or on the door, so people see it before they ring, and test the QR code with your own phone.

Useful for couriers too

If a parcel does not fit through the letterbox, a courier can scan the code and tell you where they left it. The Parcel Delivery design is made specifically for that.

Does the visitor need an app?

No. A phone camera and a browser are enough to scan the QR code and send a message.

Does the visitor see my phone number?

No. The message goes through TagTalk. The visitor does not see your phone number or email address.

How do I know someone is at the door?

Messages arrive in your TagTalk dashboard. Turn on push, email, WhatsApp or SMS notifications where available, so you see them straight away.

Can I reply to the visitor?

Yes. You reply in your dashboard in the same conversation, and the sender sees your reply on the message page.
