A QR code for your boat, caravan or camper van

A heads-up from the neighbours in the marina or on the campsite.

A boat, caravan or camper van often stays for weeks where you are not: in the marina, in storage or on a campsite. When something goes wrong, you want to know straight away. A TagTalk QR code gives neighbours and site staff a direct line without your number on the hull or the window.

The short definition

A QR code on your boat, caravan or camper van gives neighbours and site staff a way to warn you when something is wrong, without your number on the hull or window.

What can happen while you are away

A mooring line comes loose, a cover blows open, rainwater collects, a window is left open or a caravan blocks a pitch. Neighbours usually notice first. Without contact details, there is little they can do.

Why your number does not belong on it

A phone number on a boat or caravan is visible to everyone who walks past, even when you are away for weeks. With TagTalk, the sender only sees a message page. Your phone number and email address stay hidden.

How it works

Someone scans the QR code and writes a message in the browser, without an app or account. You read it in your TagTalk dashboard and reply in the same conversation. Turn on notifications by email, push, WhatsApp or SMS if you want to know quickly while you are away.

Printing a tag for outdoor use

Choose the Need to Reach Me design, or Vehicle / Car Window for behind a camper window. Print at 100% scale on waterproof vinyl, or laminate the print, and place it where people can reach it safely from the jetty, path or parking spot.

The marina or campsite stays the first contact

The harbour master or site manager remains the first point of contact for emergencies and damage. A QR code is an extra route for neighbours and passers-by who want to warn you. In an emergency, people should call the local emergency number.

Which design should I use?

Need to Reach Me works for most boats and caravans. Vehicle / Car Window is laid out for a window, such as the side window of a camper van.

How do I make it weatherproof?

Print the PDF on waterproof vinyl or laminate it, and attach it to a clean, dry surface. Scan it with your own phone afterwards.

Does the sender see my phone number?

No. The message goes through TagTalk. The sender does not see your phone number or email address.

Will I be notified when I am not nearby?

Yes. Messages are always in your dashboard, and you can turn on notifications by email, push, WhatsApp or SMS where those channels are available.
